From 9 December 2025 to 26 April 2026, Ravenna hosts a new and vibrant
Opera and Dance Season at the Teatro Alighieri: an elegant, rich programme capable
of connecting the city’s history with its contemporary spirit.
For those visiting Ravenna, attending a performance at Teatro Alighieri means experiencing the city on a deeper level: not only mosaics and UNESCO monuments, but also the magic of the stage.

9, 10, 11 December
The Ballet of the Tbilisi Opera House brings to the stage the version signed by
Nina Ananiashvili and Alexey Fadeechev: Russian tradition, virtuosity and
a fairytale atmosphere light up the Teatro Alighieri. Sets and costumes by Simon Virsaladze.
OPERA
Macbeth – 30 January, 1 February
The Opera Season opens with Macbeth, a new co-production led by Pisa together with
the theatres of Ravenna, Rimini, Genoa, Modena, Livorno, Reggio Emilia and Ferrara.
Lady Macbeth is performed by Marily Santoro, Macbeth by Franco Vassallo. Conducted by Giuseppe Finzi,
directed by Fabio Ceresa, set design by Tiziano Santi, costumes by Giuseppe Palella.
L’italiana in Algeri – 13, 15 March
Rossini’s comic masterpiece brings to the stage a protagonist who overturns roles and hierarchies.
Isabella is performed by Laura Verrecchia, with Giorgio Caoduro and Gloria Tronel as Mustafà and Elvira.
Conducted by Alessandro Cadario. Directed by Fabio Cherstich.
Carmen – 24, 26 April
A co-production with OperaLombardia, Modena and Piacenza. Maria Kataeva is Carmen,
Joseph Dahdah is Don José, and Gianluca Failla performs Escamillo.
Conducted by Audrey Saint-Gil. Directed by Stefano Vizioli, choreography by Pierluigi Vanelli,
sets by Emanuele Sinisi.

DANCE
The Nutcracker – 9, 10, 11 December
The renowned Tchaikovsky ballet in the acclaimed staging by Ananiashvili and Fadeechev.
A production that blends Russian tradition, elegance and a timeless fairytale imagination.
Area Jeune Ballet – Genève – 28 February, 1 March
Three choreographies for a single, high-level evening:
Un autre jour (Ken Ossola), Kiss & Fly (Gil Carlos Harush),
We Will Never Give Up on Love (Erion Kruja).
Featuring twenty young dancers from around the world.
ŻfinMalta – National Dance Company – 21, 22 March
With Mortal Heroes, choreographer Sita Ostheimer leads an emotional journey suspended
between tension, energy and continuous transformation.
Impromptus – 6 February
A special off-subscription event at the Artificerie Almagià in collaboration with Aterballetto:
an improvised dialogue between movement and sound, featuring accordionist Simone Zanchini.
