Why not organize a suggestive guided tour in the moonlight? I guarantee it will be an unforgettable experience thanks to the lights of the evening that will accompany you along the ancient Roman road, still intact.

We will pass through fragments of old warehouses and furnaces that are located within one of the most important port calls of the Roman and Byzantine world. In fact it dates back to the fifth century, the golden era of capital Ravenna and Classe, the general layout of the streets and buildings of the old port, i.e. the harbour part are datable to the late antique and Byzantine periods.

The size and context is evident of what was at the time a large commercial port at the center of important trade with Africa and, in particular, after 540 – date of the Byzantine penetration in Ravenna, with the East.

The visit extends around the ancient port warehouses and the paved road that runs through the whole area. We will  observe the canal crossing, discovering a small treasure among the ruins, before arriving in the boat storage area.

To complete the visit I suggest you stop to see an interesting video explaining further details: it only lasts 10 minutes!
